ABOUT US
The foundation of our club started in 2021. We reenact
ex-soldiers of the 4th Michigan Infantry, who, when they left
the state in 1861 For Washington DC, designated themself the Brownstown Volunteers, returning to Michigan after the Civil War and started playing baseball in Wayne County, Michigan. We have pictures of them playing baseball in Virginia in 1863.
Concerning our uniform, the colors have a meaning.
It is based on the Army blue for our pants, the checkered shirt is from a famous image that Matthew Brady took in 1861 of a member of the
4th Michigan infantry, and our red stands for the blood that was sacrifice to save our nation. All a homage to the soldiers who didn’t get back
to Michigan to play baseball in Wayne County.
